Visitors

My sister Lisa came to visit on July 18th. We had dinner at my mom's that night so we could all see her and so the latest additions could meet. Molly (middle) is 3 months older than Carston (right) and Carston is 3 months older than Liza. It's been so fun to have kids all together! And it was so fun to finally meet Carston. He is SO cute and we had so much fun playing with him.
Of course with Carston in town it meant we had to attempt a picture of all the grand kids since there have been 4 new ones since the last picture. My amazing friend Jessica was willing to sacrifice a Friday night to wrestle 13 kids (11 of which are 6 and under) and take one for the team by standing in Liberty Park's pond to get the right angle.
After my family returned from Powell (we stayed behind not wanting to camp with a 2 month old) we met up at a splash pad on August 1st for a picnic.

We enjoyed the several days that Lisa & Carston stayed with us and can't wait till they return. And hopefully Spencer can come next time too. It was a lot harder to have Lisa leave this time around knowing that Carston is going to be so grown up next time we see him!

24th of July

We spent the 24th with Jeff's sister. We went swimming at Mike & Niki's pool and than had yummy hamburgers and homemade root beer ice cream. No fireworks, but it was still fun.

Yes Liza was there (and me for that matter). The water was too cold for her so we sat on the side and watched and took pictures.

Chip off the ol' Block

Once upon a time I was young and naive and thought that I could change Jeff. Shortly after we were married though I realized that no matter how hard I tried, begged, or shopped, Jeff just didn't care to wear anything but a t-shirt and shorts. I took consolation in the thought that I'd some day have a son I could dress up. Last Sunday I realized Jacob is more like his dad than I thought.
And yes, he went to church like that. Socks with his sandals and all. This was just one battle I wasn't fighting that morning and at least it wasn't his pajamas or his skate board shirt.

4th of July

After a pretty relaxing day we went to my parents for a BBQ. The kids played on the water slide with Nick's kids and then enjoyed ice cream cones.
Eliza spent most of the night sleeping on daddy. (I don't think he minded).
Once it was late enough we headed over for fireworks. It was a great show and Jacob absolutely loved them. As soon as it was over he turned to Jeff with a big grin on his face and said, "Again!"

Modeling

Jeff's cousin Emily is an amazing artist - you can see some of her great works here.  Em needed a model for one of her projects, a painting of Mary & baby Jesus, and Eliza fit the bill. So we spent a bit of time on the morning of the 4th over at Em's snapping a few pics. Even though she's the wrong gender, I still thought she made a pretty cute baby Jesus.
