Tangled

Emily started taking dance in January from Miss Julie. We absolutely l.o.v.e Miss Julie! Emily has had so much fun and learned so much in the past 5 months. She worked hard and was always practicing at home. We could almost immediately tell that she was learning things because her dancing around the house changed and started to have more technique to it. Miss Julie taught the girls dances to music from Tangled. So to help Emily out we got the music and have been listening to the songs for months on end. We'd catch glimpses of what the steps were here and there when Emily would do them at home. We even saw some of them so often that Jacob started doing them when that part of the song would come on. For instance, "I'm malicious mean and scary" Emily would make a mean face. Whenever that part of the song would come on, Jacob would do it too. And now he always says "Yeah!" at the end.
Well June 4th finally came and we were so excited to see Emily perform. We curled her hair, added a little blush and lipstick, and dressed her up like Rapunzel. Her first number was a tap dance to "I've got a dream."

Then Emily's ballet dance was to "I See The Light".

We loved Miss Julie so much I told my sister-in-law about her so she signed Lucy up in the 3 year old class. Lucy did well with her songs too and looked so cute! It was fun to have both girls there together.

We are so proud of Emily and how well she did. She looked beautiful and was totally calm and not nervous at all. We're grateful we have such a wonderful little dancer and look forward to the coming year of dancing and all she's going to learn. We love you little girl!
